Recruitment Regulations
The UK recruitment market is regulated by a number of laws and Acts of Parliment. This regulation is provided to ensure all parties are protected and that all candidates and clients are dealt with fairly and without discrimination. Additionally, legislation provides protection for Medicus too to ensure that we can receive payment for services provided in a timely manner.
We do not propose to cover all the relevant Acts of Parliment here but the main ones that apply are:
- Equality Act 2010
- Conduct of Employment Agencies & Business Regulations 2003
- Working Time Regulations
- Health, Safety & Welfare Law
More information on these regulations is freely available online.
Medicus operates ethically and honestly within the legislative framework for our industry. Unfortunately, not all recruitment business or agencies do the same. We undertake that we will work with our clients and candidates in an open and honest fashion.
For our clients: We will ensure that you fully understand our fees and charges before we work with you, we will represent our candidates honestly and pass on all relevant information to help you make an informed decision about the suitability of any candidates proposed by Medicus.
For our candidates: Our service to you will be without charge and we will respect your confidentiality. We will provide you all information regarding potential employment positions that are of interest to you. This information should include the location, responsibilities, remuneration and any special contract terms.
In return, we hope for your openness and honesty.
